The OPEN is CLOSED! I am
really excited to start training heavy, hard and fast again without having to
worry about the next wod! I am satisfied with my performance in the Open this
year especially since it was my first one. I’m OK with being #258 in Canada
East. The last wod really saved my ass. I redid it twice
within 15min of each other and my 2nd performance was way better
than the first time. Out of all the wods, I felt really great for the final one
and I’ve never felt hungrier!!! It was truly a mind game and I fought the urge
to drop the bar everytime. I wanted to get it all over with and by the time I
realized how tired I was, the wod was over!
Open 2013 was filled with Pr’s,
failures and wake-up calls for me. I’ve always known that I need to work on
double-unders, snatches, toes to bar, box jumps, and muscle-ups…OK FINE.
EVERYTHING. I NEED TO WORK ON EVERYTHING. LOL But these wods really shook me up
and make me want to do better. Not for next year but for next week. I must
train like I’m in a competition for every wod in order to reach my goals. Writing
down my scores and Pr’s is always helpful because I can look back and try to
smoke my old time/PR’s.
